Con Ed 179th Street Bronx, NY

Worked with Consolidated Edison on multiple projects to assist with the replacement of various transformers at the 179th Street substation in the Bronx. Projects included civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical coordination. Civil work included removal of existing transformer foundations, deluge house foundations, concrete sidewalks, and asphalt roadways. New concrete foundations and moats were installed along with structural steel framing. Precast concrete blast walls were installed along with precast trench systems, concrete encased conduits, grating, and sidewalks.

Con Ed 42nd Street New Yok, NY

Supported Con Ed with Fire Suppression Upgrades to their 42nd substation that included the relocation of 9 deluge houses from inside transformer vaults to outside of vaults. Work included demolition and disposal of existing houses, capping existing water supply lines, installing new above and below grade piping for new locations, and installing new CMU buildings with concrete foundations, stainless steel doors and roofing.

Security Upgrades and Storm Hardening

Protecting New York’s power stations from storm damage and security threats has been a priority over the past few years. We have worked on several projects that have rehabilitated exiting storm prevention methods or have added additional damage prevention systems. We have upgraded foundations for important concrete security walls and fences around the five boroughs, most recently in the Bronx, NY at Con Ed’s Hellgate Station

 

National Grid Northport Power Station

Assisted National Grid with transformer upgrades by installing micro piles, new concrete foundations, and ISO bus steel support structure. We also completed the restoration of dilution pump intake structures by installing new steel embedments, concrete infill of pits and trenches, Sikatop resurfacing, and installing new grating, plates, and covers.

Con Ed Fresh Kills Staten Island, NY

Supported Con Ed with civil and structural work to upgrade an existing electrical feeder. Scope of work included trenching for below grade conduit installation, installing concrete encased conduits, and excavation, dewatering, and rigging for the installation of two manholes.
